Who are the chimps at Sony who compile these hotch-potch compilations, random tracks with no discerning order? "You Gotta Stop" sandwiched between "U.S. Male" and "Long Black Limousine"?! OMG, unbelievable.

The Elvis catalog is already saturated with way too many cheap & meaningless compilations, yet they issue another one!! CD 2, track 17 -- "Trouble" ?! The biggest joke of the set is printed in the lower-left corner of the cover... "The Ultimate Collection"... Ultimate? Really??

Yes just a random collection with no discernible theme or hook, either for those mildly or seriously interested in Elvis music. Perhaps it works at some level but I can't see it. Trouble (Memphis Fan) would I guess be from the 1968 special.

Gorse, yes, "Trouble" would have to be from the '68 Special, but it was only performed as part of two medleys... the "Trouble/Guitar Man" opening sequence and "Trouble" included as part of the so-called Road Medley. Oh well, I'm not buying, so... it is what it is.

Albums like this do sell. It won't be a top 10 hit, but why should Sony leave the market to other companies who are producing this type of album of early Elvis material. I will probably buy.

It's just another "get something on the market" release. Like the one currently on the market for the Christmas Shopping season. It'll sell X amount of copies to the casual buyer, Sony will turn a profit and be happy. I love hodge podge collections. Who knows, I might talk myself into buying this. Hope Sony follows up with a '70s hodge podge. In my opinion, collections of this nature this year and into early next year are merely place holders until Sony unveils its major Elvis 80th birthday release next summer.

Well i just compiled this myself with alt and remix takes included . Made my own much better cover.... maybe i'll see if i can sell X amounts of this one too ! Jezzzz ! They had a really great concept here, a 60's 3 cd set to celerbrateElvis"80th ! They chose some of my most favorite 60's tracks. Then of course they screw it right up with a mixed up meaningless compilation ! They do not include anything collectable or unreleased or alt takes.... not even a remix which usually seems to be a usual inclusion these days, i just dont get it ! Why on earth put the tedious "Today, Tomorrow and Forever" in as the 4rth track on the first cd ????? Mental people !!
