Still Crazy After All These Years!

December 04, 2014 | Music

The Touchdown label has chosen the July 22nd 1975 show from Asheville for their next release.  Rare songs are outstanding in this show like "Memphis Tennessee", or "Shake A Hand", both complete, and the only known live version from "Why Me Lord" with which Elvis also takes over the part of J.D.Sumner and joins in the singing not as usual only the refrain. The whole show is stamped by a fantastic set list. The Fans, who also have Audience admissions of the King with pleasure have in the collection, will be inspired.

These July 1975 concerts are all great! I will definitly get this one. It's too bad that Elvis got sick later on. Otherwise, what a great 1975 August Vegas season this could have been, given the good mood he was in, an ready to sing rare songs on a whim. I am curious about track 11 on CD 2 "Bathroom explanation"! TCB

Just arrived last night and i played this CD-twice. Bit 'noisy' sound from the crowd position it was taped from , but quite listenable and more complete and better than i had before. Typical 'Touchdown ' quality and if you had their releases from before you KNOW what to expect 'ok' but don't expect the best..but a lovely package and booklet with it also. Certainly in MY BOOK a very worthwhile release of a great show.
