It is with great sadness that we have to report that Myrna Smith has passed away. Myrna was taken to the hospital last March with severe kidney problems. Thank you for the great music you made - and thank you for the joy you brought to millions with Elvis's music. We'll remember you forever. Rest in peace, Sweet Myrna.

Sad, sad news indeed. I think I can speak for everyone on this forum when I say, thank you Myrna for all of the pleasure that you have given to me, all the Elvis fans and without a shadow of a doubt, Elvis himself during your 8 years of working together. The years after Elvis' passing, you were always there to keep the memory of those days alive with your personal appearances. For that, we salute you. I only met you once, but you were everything that I thought you would be and more. My deepest sympathies go out to your family and friends. RIP Myrna. You will be missed, but never forgotten. x x

Why can't EPE, or the millionaires Cilla or Lisa contribute with a few dollars to "honor" Myrna ? She was part of Elvis' success, or have they forgotten ?? EPE should also have done the same for Shaun's funeral expenses I feel.

They don' want to bring any pieces of sadness to the official site to keep it fresh and young... Well.. Life is not only happiness and by trying to be professional, they loose some important values indeed. If Elvis would be alive, he would mourn for it for sure.

I've been "offline" over Christmas and to have this news being the first thing I see is very sad. It is always a shame when we lose someone connected with Elvis, but Myrna's loss is so much more than that. A true talent who help forge some of the most important music ever created, not just with The King but other huge names in the music industry. A lovely person who, like the other "Sweets", would be an absolute joy to work with; and good God could she sing. A truly sad loss.
