My advice for all concert fans...GO AND GET IT !!!!

Murfreesboro, Tennessee was/is only about 30 miles southeast from Nashville. I would imagine that many of those in attendance gladly took that drive to enjoy these concerts! It seems somewhat strange to me that Elvis didn't sing "How Great Thou Art" at either of these two shows.

I'd buy this if both concerts were complete. But they aren't. So, I won't.

Honestly, the concerts from this tour are entertaining, but also very similar. We have a multitrack recorded show, a very well balanced reel to reel recording (my guess) on the hometown shows, and a decent rough mix of a multitrack recording (48 hrs) .... I'm not a concert collector who needs every show, this is not to appealing to me. Standing in front of the shelf, feeling like .. hm, would be great to hear a elvis show from march 74, do i really chose a soundboard? I know that it's unlikely that ftd is going to release concerts that aren't redundan in one way or another, simply because there's not much unexpected to discover anymore, so this shows are not the worst choice, but still ..... Btw. the last concert ftd i bought, the lake tahoe 74, had a second disc that was unlistenable because of drop outs and should have never been released. What a desaster. So i'm not buying them again before i read some reviews that i could take seriously.

There was a time when every fan screamed on the top of their lungs when labels as Fort Baxter, DAE, Luxor or other labels released "new" concerts. Now FTD does it and EVERYTIME fans are bitching about it. Buy it or don't that's your choice. I like these FTD releases because this label still serve the (die hard) fans for many years and I hope many years to come!

i love the 1974 season and especially the outdoor shows so i will definitely buy them can someone tell us if there can be other outdoor shows to be released this year from earlier tours, simply to enjoy the songs that he did not in the later years like "never been to spain" Mikael
Gladyslove wrote on February 06, 2018
Afaik did he sing the song " Never been to spain " only once in 1974, in August at the opening night in Las Vegas. I´ve never heard of another date he sung that song in 1974.

mikael69, What "outdoor" shows are you talking about?

Well, what sense ... to get and hear another good Elvis show and add them to my collection. The same with the Classic Album and Studio Sessions. If you don‘t like a show or something else, don‘t buy it. You don’t have to. That is absolutely Ok. Even if you are interested in other artists. But for the die hard collector everything is interesting to hear and to collect. FTD, go further on to release rhe Classic series, Studio and Live shows. If its new and unreleased, I am very happy. Thank you for your work over all the years FTD.

This "you don't have to buy it" argumentation that is repeated over and over again among elvis fans is absolutely annoying. If you take that seriously, if you are consequent, it's the end of discussions about everything you don't have to buy. If you mean what you write you can't discuss any kind of music/movies/shows/literature etc. And if you think so, why are you discussing? Isn't that against your own conviction?
Bob Finkel wrote on February 07, 2018
Well, I don‘t want the end of discussion. There are different Elvis Fans/Collectors on the way. Vinyl, Books, CD‘s, Pictures and Movies. And if you are interested in other Artists too you can‘t buy everything. There is nothing against it. But I am a concert collector and very happy with every unreleased show. And the FTD Label has something for everybody. And that is fantastic. That‘s all. Nothing more and nothing less. I don‘t want to annoy somebody or someone here. If so, I am really sorry for that.

That's a very beautiful cover. Pretty much like Audionics or Gravel Road would make. Has FTD finally hired better designers?
wildfishie wrote on February 07, 2018
I wish the '74 Tennessee march concerts got a "box set" treatment like they did with "That's The Way It Is". We would have all 9 concerts.
Dazman wrote on February 08, 2018
Sure is a great cover. I hope this standard continues. As happy as I would be to see an unreleased show come up, I hope that FTD doesn't follow the same trend as the audience boots that release redundant shows that are no better or even worse than others from the same tour or engagement with less interesting song lists, just because they're unreleased. I thought that the Odessa '76 concert was a perfect example of that. I hope that these Murfreesboro gigs don't fit the redundant category because they look like pretty standard set lists, and the March '74 shows released previously will take a lot of beating. I hope Elvis' performance lives up to the blurb here.

Be assured ..these shows are powerhouse performances.
