This DVD is absolute rubbish and I am furious for having spent so much money on it. Some different camera angles, maybe, but the quality is appalling and nothing new at all. I have all of it elsewhere and in superior viewing quality. The only 'out-takes' from On Tour are a rehearsal of Hound Dog and a few others from the 50's, and nothing else. Even the pictures in the smart looking booket are not sharp......all in all very disappointing and if you haven't already bought it, DON'T BOTHER!! Another example of fleecing the fans.

Is this NEW movieformat longer ?? With several multishots on screen now to be seen seperately, it should be a longer, much longer, nicer version ! Great work by those bootlegger-friends !! When will you do the same for E on Tour 1972 ??? Super idea and fans should love it !!

VivaLasDavies, The title for this package comes from an original trailer that if I remember right was aired on Radio station's to promote TTWII first time around,I will have to check but pretty sure that's where this title comes from, hope this clears this up for you..

Gorse, I'll see if I can download it onto y*utube

What exactly is it with the title of this - am I missing something or is it just stupid.

Sounds good circleG, give it another go, I am sure others like me would be interested in the end result. I am sure we have enough technical geniuses on this forum who can suggest better software than Nero. If EPE come knocking plead 'Elvis Fan Insanity' of which there is no known cure for those afflicted.

Hi Gorse, yes I did make my own 3 1/2 hour anthology. I made the first version back in the late 80s when I was at art college. I basically did a video to video recording. I got 'This Is Elvis' and fleshed it out by adding bits and chopping from other videos. It was well received by my friends who wanted to know who Elvis was. One even suggested sending a copy to priscilla !

I did a new version from DVDs a few years a go using stuff from a wider variety of sources. Again friends really enjoyed it. Some one has borrowed it from me at the moment. I think I could do an even better version but I need a good sofware program that edits well but I don't know of any. I wouldn't mind to market it but I wouldn't want EPE or anyone banging on my door in the early hours of the morning ...

Some of those "Region Free" DVDs do not play like they are supposed to. I found a relatively inexpensive solution that has guaranteed me that any DVD I buy will play. I purchased a NTSC/PAL combo DVD player made by Sony. I found it on Amazon for about $35 bucks. It works great. I live in the US and the PAL DVDs I own play on it just fine.

Orion, DVD is region 0 so will play worldwide,as for quality well of course it won't be HD due to age of material.Still a real nice combo and price not out of many fans pockets.

I don't think the quality looks that bad at all - Lord knows I've watched worse. The problem here in the US might be two things - will the DVD be NTSC or PAL? Second, since the DVD is taken from analog videos of the material it will not be very sharp on 1080 Hi-Def TVs in the US. Might not look too bad on an old analogue TV in the basement if you haven't upgraded in the last 10 years. lol

There have been so many dvds with this materia (see the text from Turner)l. I don't know whether they have discovered new material. Yet this one looks interesting. Awaiting some reactions from those who actually watched the whole production. I hope their next release will be a better compilation of MSGarden material, without the annoying black screens. There seems to be much more material.

Lord Almighty! I think I might give this a try. My dealer says it around the 30 euro mark has a book but I definetly saw bits Ive not seen before. Good Lord!

That is a nice promo and does tempt me but books other than recording information as in the 30 cd box or Keith Flynn's site have never really interested me.CircleG did you not produce an anthology dvd for your private use, how about marketing that - that's what we want using bits of the best amateur film like Houston, Kansas, and not avoiding Rapid City 1977. It might kick start the powers that be or perhaps Star could do it if they are reading this.

Yes Steve the 72 session seems so claustraphobic and down beat in comparison but it did produce some good stuff. The producers ' no bull#&*% please' approach may have contributed a bit too. But doesn't your mouth water for a good box set deluxe edition DVD of these films? When will we get it ?

Nice, but just from looking at the Johnny B Goode opening, its astonishing to see how much Elvis went downhill in 1972 from just 2 years earlier. I know its a rehearsal but in any 1970 rehearsals, he seems much more focused, alert and in better shape overall. He clearly needed an intervention or a new manager.

Saw a preview of this a little while ago on another site...while the quality of the footage isn't anything to sneeze at, there IS more footage here than what we have been getting. So...YMMV.....
