One Night Of Sin

August 22, 2003 | Video
Usually we don’t review releases by other artists then Elvis. But the Danish Big Fat Snake had the dream team backing them for this release with both the TCB Band and the Sweet inspirations. It isn’t strange that this release made it to #1 in Denmark.

Design

The design of this package, containing both a CD and DVD concert registration of Big Fat Snake with the TCB band and the Sweet Inspirations, is great. It has that “yellow” fifties feel and look.

Content

The package contains both a CD and DVD of the concert Big Fat Snake and company gave last April. The show was part of a three night concert series organized in cooperation with Elvis Unlimited.

The first two nights were a tribute to Elvis; the proceeds went to a good cause. The third night was Big Fat Snake’s version of Roy Robinson’s ‘A Black And White Night”, combined with an Elvis Tribute . The band, backed by the TCB Band and Sweet Inspirations paid tribute to the Elvis, Roy and Big Fat Snake songbook. The evening’s MC was Al “Elvis Has left The Building” Dvorin.

Since we visited the first show in Randers we knew what to expect. But the line-up of this second show was different, paying tribute to others then Elvis too. From the opening to the end the show was rock-solid; with the great backing of the TCB band and the Sweets we didn’t expect much else. One of the highlights wasn’t even an Elvis song, but Big Fat Snake’s “Fight For Your Love”. But a lot of Elvis' standards sounded great, mainly because the artists didn't try to be Elvis (or Roy).

Conclusion

A nice concert to watch / listen to, and for those who visited “Elvis The Concert” and want to have that on DVD, this is the closest release yet.
